There are three points you should consider in support of working with a third party marketer in general and with PHP specifically.
Cost effectiveness
Whether used as a supplement to an internal business development function or used as the full business development function, using a third party marketer is very cost efficient. There is no cost associated with ramping up an internal sales team.
A third party marketer allows much more flexibility in entering new markets. If the situation does not work out it can be severed within a reasonable time frame with out the having to deal with employee issues. Also since the vender is not a staff member, the other employee issues are not relevant.
Focus
PHP's only business is representing its asset management clients. We do not represent managers with competing products. At no time will we ever represent more than 5 managers or 7 products. By limiting the number of clients, we feel that we can meet one of our primary objectives which is to make each one of our manager client feel that they are our only client.
Experience
I have over 25 years of experience in the investment industry. During this time I have developed a broad and deep network of contacts in all areas of the investment community: investment managers, trustees, consultants etc.
I am also very familiar with a broad range of investment mandates and the performance measurements associated with them. I also have a solid record of selling investment management products to the institutional marketplace - corporate, public defined benefit plans and foundation/endowment markets.
